South Forbes Golf City: A masterpiece of a clubhouse

Unlike castles of old with fortifications and battlemented parapets that keep invaders away, the grand clubhouse of Châteaux de Paris in South Forbes Golf City, the country’s largest fully-integrated and all-themed golf resort city at the forefront of the Metro Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay corridor, is one that welcomes everyone who approaches it.

"We have recently opened the newly-completed and fully-operational Châteaux de Paris clubhouse, a masterpiece which epitomizes a French fantasy made real," said Jeffrey Ng, Cathay Land president. "Now, Châteaux residents can enjoy this main perk of our French-themed enclave."

On the approach to the clubhouse from the main gate, residents and visitors take a well-lit, tree-lined avenue reminiscent of the world-renowned Champs Elysée.

At the end is a huge and elaborate garden, a palette of flowering plants seemingly embroidered on the ground which is a most regal welcome to all visitors as well as a fitting homage to the Gardens of the Tuileries or Versailles that has made the French capital the envy of the world.

The clubhouse exterior is one that inspires awe – a somewhat symmetrical façade save for a tower that rockets high on the left side. Its central entrance is a soaring glass panel from floor to roof that allows one to peer at the voluminous space inside.

It is most especially impressive at night when light from within illuminates the whole structure through the windows.

At closer look, the clubhouse is surrounded by a moat of reflection pools whose rippled images recall of impressionist paintings inspired by Monet and Renoir.

The moat extends to a 25-meter lap infinity pool at the rear, creating the illusion of overflowing to the river below. Listening to the sound of the flowing brook while staying immersed in the refreshing waters of the pool will undoubtedly calm the senses.

Upon entering, the great volume invites one to look around, beyond through the glass, and gaze up at the ceiling as if it were the sky. Several rooms on the ground level and the mezzanine allow for many events at the same time.

One scenario includes having every debutante’s dream to be a princess on her special day. As her guests wait in eager anticipation at the 13-meter high grand ballroom, she makes her entrance from the mezzanine above and down the grand staircase where her prince awaits at the foot.

The imposing chandelier dims and surrenders to the gentle flickers of candlelight.

The gala begins to the accompaniment of the grand piano and a string quartet.

On cool evenings, soirees and other festivities are best celebrated at the lawn, made more intimate under a blanket of stars. Function rooms at the mezzanine level or the covered lanai by the pool can hold smaller, more causal affairs.

But the most unique feature is the watchtower accessible from the mezzanine in which the landing is higher than the impressive hipped roof. Intrepid residents can climb its steps to reach the top and take time viewing the whole enclave.

After a complete visit to the Châteaux clubhouse and its extensive grounds, there is no other place a resident would want to go to next than his own private castle -- his home. Whether he lives in the classic Chambord, the modern Fontainebleau, the contemporary Chantilly, the French Provincial Rambouillet, or the new additions Bordeau, Clermont, or Lafayette, one thing is for sure: he will certainly live like a king.

As the stately Châteaux de Paris clubhouse becomes the shared home of its royal residents, so too is the world-class, 18-hole South Forbes Golf and Leisure Club where every South Forbes resident is entitled to free membership at no activation cost.

In fact, with the South Forbes’ affiliation with the International Management Group (IMG) Sports Club, all members are extended privileged access and special discounts to over 42 other golf courses and sports clubs worldwide.

South Forbes: Cathay Land presents 5 clusters for the good life

Cathay Land presents 5 clusters for the good life

Back in the 1970s when children were glued to the television, Voltes V was the favorite anime program. From that came Voltron and the Power Rangers, all emphasizing the message – good teams come in fives. It is when the five individual elements unite together when they become a more powerful force to deal with.

Such unification is called synergy, or a situation where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome. This is the essence of the five Clusters of Excellence in South Forbes Golf City, the country’s largest fully-integrated and all-themed golf resort city at the Metro Sta. Rosa–Tagaytay corridor.

“Our ‘5 Clusters of Excellence’ is our award-winning feature where our international-themed Residential Cluster is in cooperative action with the Education, Business, Wellness, and Leisure Clusters,” said Cathay Land president Jeffrey Ng.

Gated communities add a touch of distinction. Homeowners will feel that they are a part of a community – an idealized small town where everyone knows and cares about each other. South Forbes’ Residential Cluster of internationally-themed neighborhoods and condominiums incorporates a modern twist to traditional architectural designs and lifestyles unique to a featured city.

“Through a design concept called contained diversity, our themed enclaves maintains its individual charm yet collectively add color to the whole development without it looking like a theme park,” added Mr. Ng.

This community assures the continuation of quality education within the city walls. Early education until the secondary level will be provided in the Learning Links Academy of Sta. Rosa while the tertiary level will carry on in South Forbes City Colleges.

South Forbes City Colleges, in partnership with GCIC, will have modern facilities and equipped with fiber optic connectivity to ensure that the future enrollees will be educated and trained on an international standard.

The community’s own Cyberpark, the business hub of the city, will feature world-class, built-to-specifications buildings suited for BPOs and call centers that will enable residents and their adult children to build careers within the city confines.

Whether setting up business at the Cyberpark, the City Center, or the Commercial Strip, walking to work will be welcomed with a huge sigh of relief since this will reduce transportation expenses.

In collaboration with the Southern Luzon Hospital & Medical Center, a full service medical center providing emergency, intensive care, out-patient, in-patient, dental and diagnostic services will be under one roof. Its fully-integrated approach assures that every person has access to qualified medical specialists and services.

MANILA, Philippines - Flowers and its symbolisms are deeply ingrained in our culture.

In this month of May, we celebrate the most colorful Catholic festival in the Philippines, the Flores de Mayo (Flowers of May), in honor of the Virgin Mary, culminated with the Santa Cruzan, a religious-historical beauty pageant held in many cities, towns and even small villages throughout the country which depicts the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena (Reina Elena), mother of Constantine the Great.

On ordinary occasions, flowers are given to convey feelings.

Many florists even provide information on the language of flowers to encourage the practice of helping modern gift-givers to “say it with flowers.”

Such relevance is not gone unnoticed in South Forbes Golf City, the country’s largest fully-integrated, self-sustaining, and all-themed golf resort city at the forefront of the Metro Sta. Rosa – Tagaytay corridor, and recipient of the Best Golf Community Development title by the CNBC International Property Awards, the world’s most prestigious property awards programme.

In fact, one of its enclaves, Châteaux de Paris, is devoted to flowers and the many French-themed gardens where these are found.

Sneak Peek. The whole French landscaping experience begins at the main gate of Châteaux de Paris with a wide open expanse. Cobblestone paving, formal rows of trees, a feature wall along the approach lay-by, and wrought iron gates immediately signify a strong, dramatic French-inspired enclave.

At the center are a fountain and a high-pitched roof that makes up the guardhouse while modern walkways, details derived from the façade of the Châteaux de Paris Clubhouse, frame the entrance.

Center of Attraction. Located at the center of the whole development, where the two major avenues intersect, is the goose-foot, or the focal point.

Within the Grand Garden is the clock tower that serves as the identifying mark for the community.

Surrounded by green open spaces for seating, walking, and gathering, allées or alleys bordered by trees or clipped hedges for easy access from homes and other gardens, and reflection ponds, this circular park is undeniably French.

Fields of Green. The perfect park for sociable residents is The Green Hall, dotted with informal groupings of trees and unobstructed open lawns that serve as multi-purpose spaces for gatherings, recreation, and play.

A fountain and water basin against a feature wall lends a cool, refreshing feeling as does the relaxing sight and scent of grass.

Performance Level. French outdoor theatres were common in gardens during the 18th century which serves as the theme for The Theatre.

At the center is a dais or elevated platform with a fountain and feature wall from which radial paving patterns originate, forming a fan-shaped plaza.

This is the stage area where neighborhood performances and shows can be held.

The French Pavilion. A circular domed pavilion is the centerpiece of this garden, set in the middle of the plaza and the terminus of the northern allée from The Grand Garden which is accentuated by formal rows of trees together with planters and plinths.

This is a classic park with seat walls and benches where residents can read a book under the shade of a tree or perhaps doze off on a lazy afternoon.

Citrus Scent. During the 18th century, the orange was regarded as a rare exotic fruit that came all the way from East Asia.

At Châteaux de Paris, L’Orangerie will be an orchard of our native dayap.
